i think it's now safe...

...to post pics of this little maze book i made for a friend!!! there's a great tutorial here on how to make them.

i {yet again!} used the super yummy out & about kit from the Scrummy Stash Cafe - think i may need to get me another one of these...

Monday 24 December 2007

A very merry christmas...

i'd just like to wish everyone a very merry christmas! thank you all for making my first blogging months so brilliant, i've made some fab new blog-buddies =-)

also i'm reeeeeaaaally sorry that i haven't been round to visit everyone's blogs to say this personally, but i still haven't wrapped any presents...

Monday 17 December 2007

i'm far too tired to be blogging...

...but i had a rather crafty moment when i got in from work!

first pic is of my card for this weeks Papertake Weekly yummy "food for thought" challenge - there's nothing yummier than cake in my opinion!

second is for DCM's inside & out challenge - i've used acetate & some lurvely double-sided pp - pic isn't fab, if anyone has any tips on photographing acetate please let me know!!!

everything i've used is from Scrummy Stash Cafe's gorgeous Salsa kit {except the acetate!}

Sunday 16 December 2007

a little bit of {ripped up} love...

this weeks Scrummy Stash challenge is to use something torn on your creation. i can't even describe how much just the thought of ripping up some of this yummy paper hurt, so i tore up a few bits of bazzill instead!!!!

Wednesday 12 December 2007

tag!

lovely Dawn has tagged me - i have to reveal 7 random facts about myself.

1: my middle name is actually Dawn!
2:i have 3 older brothers {yes - being the only girl & the baby of the family means i get very spoilt!}
3: i have some serious food phobias - eggs, baked beans & bananas really make me freak out. how i've ended up working with food remains a complete mystery...
4: i'm really hoping father christmas brings me a new camera - all my pics are currently being taken with my phone after an unfortunate incident involving my camera & the dogs water bowl...
5: i'm VERY clumsy {note above fact!}
6: i make the best sticky toffee pudding EVER { this is not bragging by the way - this is an actual real true fact, ok????!!}
7: i'm a complete football fan {not just in a lots of fit blokes running round in shorts kinda way} - this is probably due to the previously mentioned brothers, no-one would've bothered to talk to me when i was little if i hadn't agreed to be their goalie...

i'm now meant to tag 7 more people - as always i'm gonna cheat, anyone reading who fancies dishing some dirt on themselves - you're tagged!

& a {handcut} partridge in a pear tree...

here's my card for this weeks Arty Girlz challenge, which is to include some hand cutting on your creation.

i've used Liz's new gorgeous freebie - i'd like to say a big, huge *thank you* to Liz not only for bringing back my christmas mojo with this fabby image { i'd given up completely...}, but also for all the wonderful freebies - thanks Liz!

*****please all note - i am NOT creeping up to her just because there is a rather lovely prize up for grabs on her blog...

everything else is from my Scrummy Stash kit - i did warn you that i'd be using it rather a lot!

Saturday 8 December 2007

this morning i actually told my postman i loved him...

...well he did bring me a very yummy box of goodies from the Scrummy Stash Cafe! {yes, i won another of their blog challenges - whoo-hoo!}
one of the things i ordered was the beautiful new Out & About kit & this fabby paper is perfect for DCM's new stripey challenge :) everything i've used is from this kit apart from the acetate {but even that came from Scrummy Stash!}

expect to see many more cards made with this kit - i loves it!

Friday 7 December 2007

Monday 3 December 2007

dreaming of a white christmas...

here's my attempt at this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge - it's as white as i could manage! {had to keep stopping myself from adding a bit more paint...}

still no mojo...

...but i was asked earlier to make a baby card. thought i'd try to tie it in with a challenge so that i've done at least one!
i found this oh-so-cute provo craft paper hidden away in a drawer & thought i'd have a little doodle, not entirely happy with this little fella, but he'll do! he was then watercoloured - perfect for the latest Scrummy Stash Cafe colour it in challenge!

a whole week's gone by...

...and i have no new cards to show you!
my crafty mojo seems to have disappeared completely - hopefully it's off on holiday somewhere hot & will be back soon refreshed & ready to play!

Sunday 25 November 2007

how cute?!

just a quick post ~ had to pop up a pic of the card i made with Liz's latest gorgeous freebie! i adore this little tree ~ so cute!

something old, something new...

something borrowed, something blue ~ another fab challenge over at the Scrummy Stash blog!

yummy scrummy...

my Scrummy Stash Cafe goodies arrived this morning!
oooh & check out their blog for a new fabby challenge =-)

Friday 23 November 2007

o christmas tree...

a nice simple one for the latest Papertake Weekly challenge ~ think it took longer for my printer to print everything out than it did to put the card together!

ribbon & buckle from my stash, everything else from pink petticoat.

Thursday 22 November 2007

sketched, doodly ribbons...

when i saw Di's latest sketch i just had to have a go ~ so beautifully simple surely even i couldn't get too lost with it! the Arty Girlz want ribbons & fibres this week & the Scrummy Stash girls want some doodles...done!!!!

ooooooh & i won the Scrummy Stash pockets challenge!!! so chuffed, & after making a complete nuisance of myself with my lack of pc skills {sorry Maria!}i've ordered some gorgeous new stamps from their shop =-)

pp basic grey, everything else i found in my scraps drawer

Saturday 17 November 2007

Errr - i did try...

i don't usually do sketch challenges, because no matter how hard i try my finished card never bears any resemblance whatsoever to the original sketch! however i had a few spare minutes this afternoon & felt a bit crafty, so thought i'd attempt todays Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge.
i adore this card {lovely Nellie!}, but no ~ can't really see that sketch anywhere...

pp basic grey dasher, bazzill basics cardstock, lovely Nellie, papermania chipboard stickers

Thursday 15 November 2007

ahoy there...

last one ~ i only let myself order four!!!

pp karen foster, cardstock bazzill basics

it's not just me who loves them...

think i'm now getting slightly obsessed with these Nellie's...

realised today that i actually post a lot of my christmas cards so have to tone down the ribbon & buttons i add to everything ~ otherwise postage charges are going to be horrific this year!

pp basic grey, all cardstock bazzill basics

Wednesday 14 November 2007

pulled out my long-neglected die-cutter for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge & found this little cutie hiding away in a drawer!

Sunday 11 November 2007

pockets galore...

here's another scrummy stash cafe challenge ~ today it's pockets. i love this style of card & once you get the hang of where the cuts & folds need to go they're really simple to do. i've seen a tutorial for them somewhere ~ when i find it i'll add a link :-)

sorry about the awful pic ~ in a bit of a rush cos that pile of ironing is STILL looking at me...

all pp & image from pink petticoat, ribbon scraps from my stash

just found the tutorial ~ it is of course one of Beate's !-) it's the criss-cross card.

Saturday 10 November 2007

corrugated reindeer bling...

this weeks DCM challenge is to use some corrugated card ~ perfect, i lurve corrugated card! the Artygirlz challenge is to use bling ~ rudolph here has a super-bling saddle {& nose!}

loved these little gift-bag cards i saw in papercraft essentials & was desperate to have a go at making one ~ so i did!

need a lift?

here's my attempt for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge ~ not too happy with this one, the idea was there, but it hasn't quite ended up how i pictured it! think i was slightly distracted by the ever-increasing pile of ironing i really need to do...

hope everyone's having a great weekend :)

image & papers pink petticoat, ribbons little silver hat, sentiment printed using a 2peas font.

Thursday 8 November 2007

scallopy tilda...

the scrummy stash cafe has a new blog with a scallops challenge ~ perfect excuse to bring out tilda again... oh & yes i know there's a great big blank bit on the card ~ this one's going in my "oh my god, i need a card & have no time to make one" box!

anyone else ordered their Sugar Nellies? i can't have been the only one sat at my computer all day waiting for them to go on sale... { will be harrassing the poor postman daily until they arrive! }

pp basic grey mellow, bazzill cardstock, tilda stamp, ribbon & button from my stash.

Monday 5 November 2007

i'm back...

...did you miss me?! well i know lovely Dawn did cos she she left me a message ~ thanks honey!
my kids were on half term last week so i grudgingly left all crafting to them ~ my desk is {amazingly} even more messy now!
and look who arrived this week ~ isn't she gorgeous! still waiting for the other two though... still lovely Tilda just had to come out & play for this weeks DCM challenge ~ i hand-cut Tilda, the pp, the square she's mounted on AND the string...!

i've also been tagged by Terrie, Anne & Jeannette ~ thanks girls, i will get round to that soon!

image is the gorgeous tilda, all card, button & string are scraps, pp basic grey blush

Thursday 25 October 2007

spotty babies!

found out today that some good friends are expecting their first little munchkin ~ congratulations gareth & phil!
so obviously the first thing i did was make them a card...

the arty girlz challenge this week is to use spots/dots or circles ~ i want extra points for the spotty paper, rounded corners & rather round lola!

papers & images from pink petticoat, ribbon from little silver hat, swirly ribbon clip {oooh, another circle!} from poppicrafts

Tuesday 23 October 2007

first pic is my card for this weeks Magickdiva challenge ~ something for the men. with a family where the boys definately out number the girls i always need male cards!
i used oh so very yummy BG mellow papers, everything else i found lying about on my {very messy} desk!

second pic is of something for christmas ~ woooo hooo! i actually made something christmassy!
it's a door {or wall!} hanger ~ so so cute! again this was mostly made with scraps, cardstock is all bazzill, paper is a bit of leftover DCWV, i printed out the sentiment, stuck on Rudolph {cut from a cute little die of a friends} & then just added a few bits of ribbon & buttons {must try to make something without ribbon or buttons one day!}

Friday 19 October 2007

here's my card for the Daring Cardmakers 1st birthday challenge. definately a challenge for me cos i do tend to shy away from circles!

brilliant Steph has also left me smile award ~ it's a super smiley day!
i've been pondering all day over who my 10 should be and i STILL can't choose! so once again i'm going to cheat {my blog heaven place will definately be under discussion now!} EVERYONE who visits me makes me smile, so you all get the smiley award!

smile...

that super lovely all pink girl has sent me a smile award ~ thank you Dawn!
i'm now supposed to send it on to 10 other bloggers who make me smile ~ how do i only pick 10?! you all make me smile! so i'll have to get back to you on that one ~ unless of course anyone wants to leave a comment asking for the smile award!

Wednesday 17 October 2007

in stitches...

when i saw this weeks stitches challenge over at Arty Girlz i got really excited & had all sorts of big ideas about my new role as a seamstress. "so where ARE the stitches?" i hear you ask ~ look very, very closely, i just about managed to sew the buttons on...

cardstock, pp & buttons are all scraps, sentiment & star template from pink petticoat

Tuesday 16 October 2007

santa's little extra helper over at Daring Cardmakers is "o christmas tree". couldn't resist printing off one of pink petticoat's new lola's ~ isn't she just gorgeous?! i haven't played with the new one's much yet, so i really enjoyed this!

not much on this one {makes a change for me!} :bazzill cardstock, lola rose image, little silver hat ribbons.

i've seen lots of these "magic keys" about & thought it'd be sweet to put one on a card!
i'm soooooo pleased i've managed to make this ~ every time i go for a blog-hop i see so many lovely christmas cards & all it does is remind me that i REALLY need to get my crafty christmas mojo going!

Tagged...

well, i've been tagged by the super-talented Louly ~ thanks!

Here are the rules :1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.

1: i love books ~ anything will do, i've never been a brilliant sleeper so spend my nights tucked up with a book instead.
2: i have a serious passion for cadbury's dairy milk.
3: i live in a tiny welsh village, right by the seaside!
4: i have a phobia of birds.
5: i truly believe that robbie williams will one day be mine!
6: my eldest son has a habit of sneakily pinching my craft stash.
7: i sucked my thumb until i was 12.

will have to break the rules a little now & not tag anyone ~ all the bloggy peeps i know seem to have already been tagged recently!

Sunday 7 October 2007

paint...

at work last night i was asked to make a card for a new baby girl. ok i said when do you need it? the answer ~ well we're going to visit them tomorrow...
don't think i did too bad considering the rather late hour!
i took inspiration from the Caardvarks challenge which is to use paint on your card.
everything i used came from my scrap box, including the image which i found already stamped ~ that's a bit organised for me!

have a lovely sunday!

Saturday 6 October 2007

tickled pink...

stumbled across the weekly challenge on Magickdiva ~ monday is a {very girlie~pink!} friends birthday so this was perfect!
out came the lovely lola's {ooooh, i just loves them!} & after a bit of chalking & sakura-ing it was done!

all papers, image & sentiment pink petticoat, ribbon little silver hat, brad i found on my kitchen table...

Friday 5 October 2007

answers on a postcard...

hooray ~ another one! (those of you who left comments saying how addictive this is are absolutely right!}
Daring Cardmakers want a postcard & you have to send it to someone. so this is going to a lovely neighbour who happily signs for any parcels that arrive when i'm at work ~ thank you! seing as they live so very close & there's no post at the mo (aaarrrgghh! why now when i'm waiting for a huge stack of basic grey goodies & some scrummy tilda's?), i think i'll hand-deliver it!

sentiment from pink petticoat , pp & ribbons by making memories, cardstock was found on my son's desk {the perfect colour!}, everything else from my li'l bits basket.

a great big thank you...

to everyone who welcomed me to blogland! it was wonderful to sign in this morning & have so many lovely comments from such super talented people ~ thanks girls!

Thursday 4 October 2007

i did another one!

had to make a new baby card anyways & this sketch on Di Hickmans blog was perfect ~ i wanted a simple, not-at-all fussy card, that was still pretty ~ hope i managed it! pic's not brilliant, sorry! the quote says "a new baby is like the beginning of all things - wonder, hope, and a dream of possibilites" sweet!

pp is DCWV, bazzill cardstock, quote tag by my mind's eye, ribbon little silver hat, button from my li'l bits basket

my first challenge!

hooray ~ i've done a challenge! this is for the new Papertake Weekly Challenge. i love the stuff these girls make so thought i'd pick this lovely new challenge group to kick off my lovely {ahem} new blog!
pp & image from pink petticoat , ribbon from little silver hat

blog lurker...

well, after much lurking around other people's blogs i decided i really should get my own! this also means i can actually join in with challenges instead of just "oooh"-ing & "aaaah"-ing everyone's gorgeous creations!

{i must just point out though that i'm shockingly awful with computers, so who knows what nonsense will end up on here...}
